Geeta Jakkaraju

Artist Statement

My artistic journey began with my first oil painting, an experience that sparked both confidence and profound connection to visual arts. Since then, art has become a powerful force in my life, shaping how I see and connect with the world. I believe both art and learning can serve as catalysts for empathy, creativity, and personal transformation. I get inspired from nature, culture, tribal art rooted in storytelling and connection to everyday life.

I find greatest joy in experimenting, teaching, spreading the essence and happiness of painting through my studio practice. Art has now become a ‘pillar of my life and strength’ that enabled me to become a Creative Entrepreneur shifting away from a long corporate career as an Information Technology professional.

Multidisciplinary Artist • Educator • Community Arts Advocate

Geeta Jakkaraju is a multidisciplinary artist, and educator whose work explores the intersections of storytelling, culture, heritage and human connection. Geeta is someone who bridges two worlds: a professional background in learning design and a lifelong devotion to art. Working across oil painting, textured clay relief, mixed media, and traditional folk-art forms, she creates immersive visual experiences that invite reflection while celebrating the richness of everyday life.

As the founder of Geetarts Studio in Foxborough, MA, Geeta facilitates creative workshops for children, adults, families, and community groups, using art as a vehicle for self-expression, cultural exploration, mindfulness, and meaningful connection. She has also contributed extensively to nonprofit arts initiatives as an art coordinator, mentor, and judge.

Beyond her studio practice, Geeta actively promotes cultural exchange, artistic collaboration, and community participation through her leadership and service. She serves as Director of Board Operations for Kalakruti Indian Art Association of New England and is a member of the Foxborough Art Association, the Foxborough Cultural Council.,
