Biography

My mixed media paintings are a vibrant reflection of my profound connection to the natural world and the rich tapestry of my personal experiences. Rooted in exploration, experimentation, and a spirit of play, I continually push the boundaries of my artistic expression through innovative additive and subtractive techniques.

Embracing the excitement of the creative process, I infuse every aspect of my life into my art, constantly evolving as I delve into new subjects and techniques. With an informal yet edgy aesthetic, my work exudes a playful energy that invites viewers to engage and explore.

Central to my practice is an intuitive and spontaneous approach, beginning with collage, printmaking, and a chosen color palette. By working on multiple pieces simultaneously, I can delve into diverse themes and ideas while maintaining a cohesive thread throughout my body of work.

My paintings come together as a mosaic of colors, textures, shapes, and marks. Layering gestural lines, hand-drawn elements, washes, grids, and textures, I construct dynamic compositions that resonate with depth and complexity. Drawing and mark-making serve as the foundation, while layers of paint, collage, and ink imbue each piece with atmosphere and mood.
Through my art, I strive to encapsulate the essence of the natural world, inspiring others to connect with and appreciate its beauty. Each painting is a celebration of life's diversity and intricacies, inviting viewers to join me on a journey of exploration and discovery.

My work can be found online on my blog, Instagram, Fine Art America, and Facebook page. I have been a member of several prestigious artistic organizations (mentioned below), and my work has been shown in several group and solo shows throughout the New England area. I also teach locally.
