Artist Statement
Art has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. Although I am a software engineer by profession, I am a self-taught artist by passion. I never received any formal training in art. I believe my artistic inclination was inherited from my father, whose creativity and appreciation for art continue to inspire me.
Like many, I set my creative pursuits aside for several years while focusing on education, career, and family. Yet the desire to create never left me. Rather than looking back with regret, I chose to welcome art back into my life, allowing it to shape who I am today.
What began as a childhood hobby has evolved into a lifelong devotion. Over the years, I have explored a wide range of artistic mediums, including pencil, ballpoint pen, ink, watercolor, and oil painting. I also enjoy illustration and sculpting with clay. Among all my subjects, portraits are my greatest passion. I find immense joy in capturing the beauty, personality, and spirit of people, transforming a face into a story on canvas or paper. Each medium offers a distinct language to express ideas, emotions, and observations, making the creative journey both challenging and deeply rewarding.
My artistic style is rooted primarily in realism. I am drawn to capturing beauty, character, and intricate detail in a way that resonates emotionally with the viewer. Whether I am painting a portrait, a bird, a landscape, or a moment from everyday life, my goal is to balance technical precision with heartfelt expression, refining each piece until it feels complete and visually meaningful.
For me, art is more than a hobby or creative pursuit—it is a language of the soul. It allows me to observe more deeply, appreciate the beauty around me, and share a part of myself with others.
In a single word, art is “Soul” to me.
"Every painting tells a story, every brushstroke preserves a moment, and every artwork carries a piece of my soul."

Biography
Giri is a Software Engineer based in Canton, Massachusetts, USA, whose lifelong connection with art began in early childhood. Born into a creatively inclined environment, he was deeply influenced by his father, a high school teacher and an artist in his own right. At the age of four, Giri’s fascination with art was first sparked while observing his father’s artworks, proudly framed and displayed in their home in his native village in India. These early impressions laid the foundation for a quiet but enduring passion.
Though he has had no formal academic training in fine arts, Giri nurtured his skills through consistent practice and self-learning, drawing inspiration from the works of Indian artists featured in magazines and publications. Over time, this self-driven exploration evolved into a dedicated artistic pursuit.
His work spans multiple mediums, including pencil, ink, ballpoint pen, watercolor, and oil. Among these, portraiture holds a special place in his artistic expression, allowing him to capture depth, emotion, and individuality through his subjects.
For Giri, art is not merely a skill but a journey of the soul. Like life, it evolves continuously; unlike life, it does not end but lives on through the creator’s expression. Yet, it is only when art is felt deeply in the heart that its true journey begins—bringing with it a profound sense of joy and discovery.
What began as a childhood hobby gradually transformed into a passionate pursuit. In recent years, Giri has begun to experience art more intimately and authentically—from the heart rather than the hand alone. In this renewed connection, he describes his journey as a rebirth of his (HE)ART.
