Raksha Soni

Biography

Raksha Soni is a visual artist, muralist, and educator whose work celebrates the power of storytelling, cultural heritage, and human connection. Known for her vibrant paintings inspired by Indian folk traditions, mythology, landscapes, and portraiture, she creates art that bridges tradition and contemporary expression while reflecting a deep appreciation for nature, culture, and the stories that connect us. Her work has been exhibited at prestigious venues including Boston City Hall, Rhode Island, State Council, Worcester Art Museum, Lowell Folk Festival, and Fitchburg Art Museum, as well as numerous galleries and cultural institutions throughout New England.

In recent years, Raksha has become an accomplished public artist, creating murals and painted utility boxes across Boston, the Seaport District, Lowell, Arlington, Bedford, Wayland, Lexington, and Burlington. Her public art transforms everyday spaces into vibrant landmarks that foster community connection, celebrate local identity, and bring art into the public realm. As a passionate educator, Raksha founded Brush & Paisley, an initiative dedicated to preserving and sharing traditional Indian art forms while nurturing creativity in future generations through workshops and community programs.

Her artistic and community contributions have earned widespread recognition, including a nomination for India New England Women of the Year, an Artist of the Year award, and the Community Hero Award. Her work and story have been featured in Northshore Magazine, The Lowell Sun, Arlington News, BCAT, India New England News, Women Who Win, Lokvani, and numerous other publications.
